Cookie Policy

Last updated:

By default we use only cookies and local storage that are strictly necessary for the site to work and to keep our contact form free of spam. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and no analytics tool is currently switched on.

What are cookies and local storage?

A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device when you visit it. Local storage works similarly but is managed directly by the site's code rather than sent with every request. Both can be first-party (set by the site you're visiting) or third-party (set by an embedded service, such as a video player).

What we actually use

icodos-cookie-consent
First-party, local storage. Remembers your cookie choice so we don't ask again. Set only if a cookie-based analytics tool is active (see below). Persists until you change your choice or clear site data. Strictly necessary — no consent required.
Cloudflare Turnstile
Third-party, set by Cloudflare only while the contact form is open. Confirms you are not a bot. Strictly necessary for form security — no consent required. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
YouTube (on click only)
Third-party, set by Google only if you click play on an embedded video preview. Served from the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com domain. Not set merely by viewing the page. See below.
Analytics (Plausible / Google Analytics / GTM)
Not currently active on this site. Plausible is cookie-free and would not set anything if enabled. Google Analytics / Tag Manager would only ever load, and only ever set cookies (_ga, _gid, and similar), after you opt in via a cookie banner — which itself only appears once such a tool is switched on.

Embedded video previews

Careers and some project pages show a click-to-play video preview instead of an auto-loading YouTube player. Simply viewing the page loads a static thumbnail image from Google's image servers — this does not set a cookie. Only if you click play does a real YouTube player load from youtube-nocookie.com, at which point Google may store technical identifiers in your browser needed to run the player. Full detail on this data flow is in our Privacy Policy.

How you can manage cookies

  • Cookie settings on this site: a "Cookie settings" link appears in the footer whenever a cookie-based analytics tool is active, letting you change your choice at any time.
  • Removing cookies from your device: clearing your browser's browsing data removes cookies from every site you've visited — including any saved logins or preferences.
  • Blocking cookies: most browsers let you block cookies entirely, though this may stop some features (like an embedded video) from working.
